Indian tennis stars Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi have reunited in the last few grand slams and are showing results. Barely two months before the Olympics, it has been a wonderful sight for Indian fans as Sania – Bhupathi are back on top form. They have shown just why they are a winning combination by joining hands once again after a brief separation.
Sania’s growing focus on doubles brought her together with long time friend Bhupathi. The duo made it to the Australian Open final in 2008. The next year they went a step forward by taking their first grand slam title together and Sania’s first ever.
In its third grand slam final, the duo now has been confident of winning yet another grand slam.
A dip in form and injuries to Sania had briefly disrupted their flow. But barely 50 days before the London Games Sania and Bhupathi have once again raised hopes of a medal in the mixed doubles at the Olympics.
Having registered comfortable straight sets win so far in the ongoing French Open champions the Indians look like top favourites to take the title.
